Norah restaurant and cafe is the first opening from Irish born chef, Claire Hanrahan.
Working closely with local suppliers and focusing on seasonal produce, Norah brings an ever changing breakfast and lunch offering to our pierside location, alongside weekly dinners and monthly pop-ups from friends in Scotland and beyond.

Norah Hanrahan
Norah Hanrahan - our namesake was a force of nature.
Known for strictly baking three apple pies at a time, never letting you go hungry or parched, and generally being the best.
When you arrived at Norah’s door you instantly felt at home. If we can give even 10% of the hospitality that she made us feel then we’ll be doing ok.

Friends of Norah
Creating the space Norah now occupies was a labour of love and couldn’t have been completed without the support of the incredible network we have been lucky enough to occupy.
Massive thanks to everyone who has helped us create a special place at the pier.

Newhaven, Edinburgh
The Community
While Newhaven sits just 20 minutes from central Edinburgh and is perfectly connected to the city through the new tram network, it feels a world away from the city. After moving to Newhaven in 2023 we were blown away by the amazing independent businesses who call the village home and who have become both friends and neighbours over the years.
If you’re visiting us at Norah and want to spend some more time in the surrounding area then be sure to check out some of our neighbours;
